Palotta's Italian Grill
One of our favorite Italian restaurants is very close to home in The Woodlands. Palotta's Italian Grill, formerly known as Sghetti's, has been a mainstay in the area for many years. Rosalio, the manager at Palotta's, always makes my family and I feel right at home; always taking time to visit with us. Thank you, Rosalio.
The ambiance at Palotta's is great. The lights are always just dim enough to create a warm, intimate setting. Yet, bright enough to enjoy a "family" dinner. The daily specials are truly fabulous. My favorite is "Something Greek with fresh Gulf Coast shrimp." It's a delicate fusion of hearty Italian pasta with a cream sauce and artichoke hearts topped with just the right touch of feta cheese to go along with an abundance of the plumpest shrimp imaginable. Complemented by one of their many reasonably priced wines, the dish is literally to die for!
After finishing dinner, the overall setting and non-rush attitude of Palotta's staff makes it very easy to sit around the table, sip a cup of coffee, enjoy one of their great desserts and just enjoy your guests. I feel this is what makes Palotta's an establishment along the lines of the great, local Italian restaurants of yesteryear.
